The first public display of my work was when my gouache painting of
‘The wooded path’ was selected
for inclusion in the Stockport & District Exhibition in March 1954.
Formerly a lawyer practicing in Bristol, my early interest in art became my profession in 1993 when I started holding one-man and shared exhibitions in the West of England.
I have been teaching the craft of painting to adult classes and workshops for the past twenty years.
Having moved from Bristol to North Norfolk about nineteen years ago my work has exhibited with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Royal Society of Marine Artists at the Mall Galleries in London - see the Gallery section of this website.
I am very pleased to have been selected as a founder member of the Institute of East Anglian Artists, of which I am now a Fellow.
Painting mainly in oils and in a representational style, my paintings are now in private collections in the United Kingdom, the United States, mainland Europe, India and Australia.
My subjects vary widely but I always prefer to record moments of personal interest and enjoyment. My aim is to celebrate the times in which we live.
